Our commitment

The Bonkers Quilt Project is a community initiative. We aim to make this website accessible and inclusive, and to improve it when we learn about barriers people face.

As a provider of an online service in the UK, we take account of the Equality Act 2010. This statement explains what we do to support access, and how you can get help if something does not work for you.

Standards we aim for

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA where reasonably possible. In practice, that includes:

• semantic HTML so content is clearer for assistive technologies;
• keyboard access to interactive controls, with a visible focus state;
• text alternatives for important images; and
• readable colour contrast for text and interface elements.

Interactive quilt viewer

The interactive quilt viewer is designed to work with pointer and keyboard where supported. Some detailed exploration features may still be harder to use with certain assistive technologies. If that affects you, contact us and we will do our best to help — for example by describing a square or sharing equivalent information another way.

We will acknowledge accessibility feedback and aim to respond with advice or an update on what we can improve.
