Bonkers Postbag!
30th September 2025
Our beautiful technicolour quilt is very nearly full now, with a wonderful variety of styles, colours and themes. I will have my hands full for a few months, filling and fixing and blending everything into a chaotic but cohesive whole, and then it will be time to back, tie and bind it.
Meanwhile, the pieces are still coming in from all over the world - how lucky I am to be the one who gets to see them all and stitch them into the quilt.
Sandra created a square made up of 100 tiny squares of different fabrics, with a little mini embroidery in each one - like a quilt within a quilt, incredible!! She also very kindly sent some beautiful silk prints which are made by a company near to where she lives here in the UK - one I will very much enjoy using and the other will be given away during a live stream at some point in the future.
Alison described herself as a novice stitcher, but you would never think so when you see the gorgeous thread-painted piece that she created, I believe the background fabric was a Kaffe Fassett print. It’s stunning.
Marian has already done loads as she was one of the Bonkers Crew and helped with all the prep that made our Stitchy Corner so perfect, but she made some extra wonky pieces as fillers for the quilt, they’re really fun and quirky and will fit in just perfectly.
