Bazaar August Show at Sussex Prairie Gardens

Jo had set up a beautiful circular tent for us, with a table for the quilt, another for threads, trims and doodads and yet another piled high with Bazaar scraps for us to work with. There was plenty of seating, but as you can see, we spilled over outside as well! The gardens were such a perfect setting for this wonderful event.
It was lovely to spend time stitching in the sunshine with old friends and new - a real coming together of kindred spirits. Great to see all ages working together too, sometimes three generations of the same family - the youngest stitcher was six years old and the oldest (that I know of) was in her 80s.
On the second day, my niece, Georgia (AKA in our community as Coco Plops for reasons we won’t go into), surprised me with a visit and brought her daughter Leila and her friend Esme. I hadn’t seen them for ages and they’d come all the way from Cornwall, so it was a totally unexpected and lovely surprise. It was such a joy to spend some time with them and they each made a piece for the quilt of course!
